ORRINGTON 鈥?Kathleen Vivian McCafferty, 89, of Orrington, passed away at the Gulfs owala flasche ide Center for Hospice Care in Zephyrhills, Florida on January 6, 2016, surrounded by her family.Kathleen was born August 17, 1926, in Winn, Maine to Bernard and Elizabeth Hanscome McCafferty. She grew up in Penobscot, Maine and attended schools in Penobscot and Bucksport and Portland, Me. She later attended Beals College. She took the civil service exam and worked for the Veterans Administration in Washington, D.C. for 2 years and then for Bangor Mental Health Institute for 21 years as a licensed CNA/CRMA before retiring. She enjoyed making braided rugs and attending to polene tasche the care and needs of the elderly.Kathleen was predeceased by a daughter, Susan Jordan and her sister, Celia Gray. She is survived by her children: Steven Jordan, Sharon Robbins, Debra Johnston, Diane Jordan, Terry Jordan; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; her brother, Bernard McCafferty; special sister in-law, Mary Waite; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.A private memorial service will be held in the spring.
