Antonov has been contracted by China Aviation Industry I AVIC I to develop a supercritical aerofoil wing for the planned ARJ21 regional jet. The deal was confirmed at this month s Airshow China in Zuhai Flight International, 12-18 November .The Ukrainian design bureau will be responsible for optimising the ARJ21 s wing and constructing windtunnel models. Development of the ARJ21 should be completed in the middle of next year, with service entry in 2006.Antonov has also signed an agreement with Shaanxi Aircraft to join its Y-8F600 freighter programme as a risk-sharing partner. Antonov designers will assist in st adidas sambarose ructural design and aerodynamics of the four-engined aircraft, which is a development of the Y-8F400, itself based on the Antonov An-12. Antonov is already involved in windtunnel testi af1 ng of the Y-8F600. Agreement has been reached with Pratt Whitney Canada to power the Y-8F600 with the PW150B turboprop. The new 20,000kg 44,000lb -payload aircraft will be equipped with US-built avi air force 1 onics. Certification is planned for the fourth quarter of 2005. Antonov and the Kharkov aircraft production plant have signed a letter of intent with China s State Export-Import Company for the delivery of two An-74TK-300 twinjets to Chinese airlines. Kazan Helicopters has reactivated its Ansat light turbine twin programme following the findings of a preliminary investigation into a fatal accident in July 2006. Investigation of the crash of an Ansat belonging to South Korea s forestry service, in which the pilot was killed, has found that external factors were the cause.The crash was a setback for the first helicopter designed by Kazan, which has fly-by-wire controls and Pratt Whitney Canada PW207K engines.At the time of the accident, Kazan had delivered five Ansats to Korea - four to the forestry service and one to the police - between December yeezy 350 2004 annd July 2005. The CEV/CLV first and upper stage stack will be 94m 309ft tall, have a gross take- off weight of 909,000kg 2 million pounds and have a 25t-to-LEO payload capacity. The flight tests will continue through 2011 and 2012. During the CLVs 10min flight the first stage will separate after 131s at 195,600ft and the upper stage engine fire at 133s and burn for 463s. During this time the CEV capsules launch abort system is ejected. There are major plans afoot to regenerate the former Clark air baseA consortium led by UK consultancy Mace has big plans for Clark International Airport, and is embarking on a major construction project to set up an $850million aircraft maintenance and training facility. It recently signed a 25-year lease agreement with the Clark Development Corporation.Clark is a former US air base, which was vacated in 1991, and is around 80km 50 miles north of Manila. In 1993, two years after the departure of US forces, the vast base was declared a special economic zone in a bid to encourage industrial development in the area.
