Virginia lawmakers are on the verge of making dramatic progress toward safer roadways. These three changes are long overdue and represent major advancements in the fight to save lives, said Martha Mitchell Meade, manager public and government affairs for AAA Mid-Atlantic. AAA urges lawmakers to continue to approve these bills and send them to the governor for his signature. Lives depend on it. Albemarle County announced the appointment of Phyllis Savides to Director of the Department of Social Services effective July 8 stanley polska .Savides is replacing Kathy Ralston, who retired on June 30, 2015 after 39 years with Albemarle County. Savides will lead the workplace in serving residents with her over 17 years of experience in the Department of Social Services.
